This will be great news for those living in DDA flats! the LG has directed DDA to set up a corpus for the maintenance of flats built by the land agency. Speaking about the direction from the LG, a senior DDA official said, "It was felt that maintenance of these flats by the RWAs needed to be looked into as the RWAs were unable to maintain the flats despite the mechanism set up by the housing regulation act."

The corpus fund would be set up for the maintenance of the flats for the next 30 years. The fund, which would be financed by allottees themselves. DDA would charge the allottee a certain percentage at the time of allotment as part of the sum for the flat would be used for the upkeep over the next 30 years.

DDA has started one time maintenance of the flats. The colonies that fell along the Common Wealth Games route, from the Commonwealth Games Village to Siri Fort and Jawaharlal Nehru stadium were covered in the first phase. The rest of the colonies will be taken up after the Games, and DDA will repair the facade and paint the houses as part of the project. Hope this holds true after the games finish!
